What I’m Currently Loving- August Edition
Updated: Aug 28, 2019
August has come and gone, literally I blinked and it was over. I've been super busy this month, we moved into a new house and my baby boy turned four years old. Between the move and planning a party at the same time, my favorites list is a little short this month. Short but sweet as the saying goes. These are beauty, lifestyle, food, and fitness items I'm currently loving or currently lusting over. Without further ado, my August faves !
My breakfast of choice almost every single day this month has been a yogurt bowl. I craved this all month long and could not get enough of it. I opted for dairy free yogurt (Kite Hill makes delicious almond milk ones). Next I top it with whatever Summer fruit I have on hand, then I added granola (Cascadian Farms makes tasty organic granola). Lastly, I drizzle a little honey on top. Its hearty and honestly fills me up until lunchtime.
I found this book All In Good Taste, by Kate Spade in Homegoods actually, but what a great find! It's filled with how-tos, personal essays, anecdotes, recipes, and a liberal dash of style in the quintessential Kate Spade way. It promises to "transform you into the hostess everyone wants an invitation from." Not sure if I can live up to the late Kate, but it's a great book and looks really nice on my coffee table.
This beautiful scent by Diptique is called L’Ombre dans l’Eau and I actually received this almost two years ago as a Christmas gift. I've always loved it, but lately I reach for it before any other scents. It has a combined scent of roses and blackcurrant berries. As described by Diptique, "the herbaceous, acidulated accents of blackcurrant leaves and buds, and the floral intensity of rose. A nature-filled moment to savour." Not sure how they do it but it smells AMAZINGGG!!
Protein powder is an absolute MUST for me. A) because as a woman ages we lose protein, therefore we need to replenish it. B) because I workout frequently, protein fuels depleted muscles and also helps to rebuild muscles. There are many other reasons but what I love about this one by Amazing Grass is it includes not only protein but probiotics as well. The flavor blends easily into smoothies and it's also crafted with organic plant-based proteins, soothing superfoods, and alkalizing greens.
I have become OBSESSED with essential oils. Intrigued by their natural healing abilities I began researching them and honestly the benefits are countless. My interest is of coarse in skin care so I started playing around with recipes and concoctions including specific oils. So far I'm loving the results. I made my own cleansing balm in thirty minutes and it's incredible. Stay tuned for more!
Stay tuned for next month’s favorites....
